Na Zámečku 1609

Welcome to the website of a private noble residence — a Renaissance château rebuilt in 1603–1609, the oldest building in Hamr na Jezeře. Its age exceeds 950 years. The estate has changed many times: from a fortress to a grange, a Renaissance château, after 1720 an administrative seat and forestry office, and today a pension and the renowned café "Na Zámečku 1609". It was once part of the Hamr estate with roughly 72 ha of land and a pond. The building has been heritage-protected since 1961 and is listed by the National Heritage Institute. Surrounding plots are a significant archaeological site.

Location and access

The Hamr château with café sits directly on the lakeshore in the village centre. Its hallmark is a large garden leading straight to the lake — swim before breakfast while enjoying nature in every season. In winter you can skate or cross the frozen lake on skis.

Café

The café offers daily fresh pastries, cakes and cheesecakes, warm desserts, pies, and famous ice‑cream sundaes, plus a wide range of coffee, milk drinks, hot chocolate, teas, and seasonal warm drinks. We are the region’s only scoop‑ice retailer with year‑round Ice n’ Go. More than thirty homemade lemonades are available all year. Czech and international wines, the full Bohemia Sekt range, Mionetto Prosecco, and cocktails are standard. On tap: Radegast bitter 12, Pilsner Urquell 12, and non‑alcoholic Birell. Sunday brunch, hearty soups, quality charcuterie, grill specials, and fresh salads are part of our tradition.

Dining room and breakfast

Dining

Renowned served breakfast menus with hot and cold dishes and drinks. Breakfast in the historic hall or with a lake view is balm for the soul. Breakfast or half‑board by arrangement; during the day the full café menu. Breakfast times can be agreed individually.

Activities

What to do here in spring, summer, and autumn?

Many hiking trails start at the château; we will recommend routes and cross‑border trips by car — you are at the centre of a star on the map and can comfortably manage a day trip. Enjoy hiking, scooters or bikes, or inline skates — a cycle path begins at the property. Swim, row, paddleboard, run, or play tennis, badminton, and beach volleyball.

Late summer and autumn mean mushroom picking and forest fruit.

In winter try skiing or cross‑country at Ještěd (~20 minutes), skating and pond hockey, or skiing on snow‑covered cycle paths.
